Someone shot up my kid's school today, and our governor is paying tribute to a guy who thought that is an acceptable price to pay for having the Second Amendment.

Jared Polis has failed Colorado.

The White House is mobilizing red state military forces to occupy a Democratic stronghold and let me tell you: No one has ever pretended something isn't happening harder than Democratic leaders are pretending this isn't happening right now.

American politics makes a lot more sense when you realize that the GOP is afraid of pissing off the GOP base, and the Dems are afraid of pissing off the GOP base, but neither party is afraid of pissing off the Dem base.

Would be nice if @schumer.senate.gov and @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social had more people answering the phones so they could get a sense of how absolutely horrified their constituents are at the idea that any Senate Democrat would vote yes on cloture or the CR.

The institutional Democratic Party is guided by an almost pathological level of conflict avoidance in almost every direction. “What can we do to make the least number of people mad?” is just a bankrupt way to operate.

I have given money to so many Democrats over the years and right now the only one I can imagine ever giving to again is @aoc.bsky.social . She is fighting when so many others are capitulating. Please, please, please primary Schumer or Gillibrand.
New Yorkers: Call Sen. Gillibrand’s office to vote NO on cloture and NO on the Republican Spending Bill.

They vote in the morning.

Schumer wants us to believe Senate Dems are powerless while literally providing the votes to ensure the GOP agenda goes forward.

If a shutdown was better for Trump, the House GOP wouldn't have passed this CR and the Senate GOP wouldn't vote for it.

Schumer knows that; he's outright lying to us.
Schumer: "For sure, the Republican bill is a terrible option. It is not a clean CR. It is deeply partisan. It doesn't address far too many of this country's needs. But I believe allowing Donald Trump to take even much more power via a government shutdown is a far worse option."

If Chuck Schumer enjoys a single day in NYC for the rest of his life without being told to go fuck himself at least once, then NYC will have utterly failed as a society.

Draw your own conclusions, but Donald Trump is not behaving like a leader who expects democratic accountability for himself or his party next year or in 2028.
