This isn't really a new take. The Trump administration built a firm reputation for abandoning its allies in its first term, and even tried to leave NATO. Why would they do any less this time?

New — Sources tell me OPM is preparing mass firing of probationary employees after agencies submitted lists of them last week without context. If supervisors want to keep someone on, they need to write a short justification. Directive was high level. They were told not to put any of this in print.

Nothing makes an offer look more suspicious than sending 7 follow-up emails all reassuring me it's totally not suspicious.

They asked for a one-word reply, so I sent one.

Trump wants to distract you from the fact that he gutted the Aviation Safety Committee and ousted the FAA administrator last week.

Don’t let him.

Trump has so far blamed the deadly DCA plane crash on Barack Obama, Joe Biden, the Democratic Party, Pete Buttigieg, the 2020 election, and diversity.

No evidence was provided.

If you are a federal worker being offered a buyout, I would advise against taking it.

Of course, this is a personal decision for everyone and it’s your choice.

But these offers are a rush job. The legality is questionable and this admin does not keep to its word.

They aren’t firing for a reason.

New memo just dropped at work. Apologies for the "picture of a screen" display; I'm trying not to do anything IT can track.

The "party of law and order" is now illegally firing nonpartisan civil servants and escorting them out with security while talking about upholding the rule of law.

It literally could not be more hypocritical. If you voted for this, I have no respect for you.

As a current federal employee, I'm so grateful for my external networks right now (primarily r/fednews, Bluesky, my homies on Telegram, and my IRL friends with whom I also work), not just for keeping me sane in the wake of these staggeringly idiotic actions, but also for sharing information.

Remember when Jared Kushner praised the “valuable” potential of Gaza’s “waterfront property & suggested Israel should remove civilians while it “cleans up” the strip?

Anyway, here’s Steven Witkoff. He has no experience in diplomacy or the Middle East, but he is a successful real estate investor.
