I had to order pistachio paste from Amazon for this recipe and it was stupid expensive. And it looks like baby poop. Luckily these macarons are delicious. Almost worth $25 in pistachio paste. Almost.

New cookie this year. Bûche de Noel cookies from NYT. I haven’t eaten one yet, but they aren’t visible wrong, like the other cookies I made today, so I’m counting this as a win.

I’m starting this year’s Christmas Baking Extravaganza by realizing I need several sticks of softened butter and mine is not just refrigerated, but actually frozen. Just like every other year. Why is this a lesson I refuse to learn?

No matter how early I start my Christmas crochet project, come Thanksgiving weekend I’m in a panic. 20 derpy bird bodies later I don’t k is if I’m ahead of the game or woefully behind. Wish me luck!

Anyone else have these sorts of problems, or is it just me? Doing some Thanksgiving baking and it is so hot in my kitchen. But my feet are too old to stand on a hard surface without good shoes, so I just pulled up my pant legs? Maybe I need to dig my Chacos back out.
