I definitely feel like we're more likely to see a follow-up in comic form anyway. I'm pretty sure that's where it drew its inspiration from too.

It feels like it does deserve a theatrical followup though!

Also, I rate the old 1986 movie and Prime (padding aside) a fair bit!

I felt restless and it's too late to do anything, so why not watch a slapstick on the end of the world. I'm sure there'll be nothing prescient in Dr. Strangelove. That's three movies today, so I guess I'm caught up on the two missed Mondays now too. letterboxd.com/crashscreen/...
A ★★★★½ review of Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (1964)
"Gentlemen, you can't fight in here. This is the war room!" What an amazing slapstick movie. From start to finish, anything that can go wrong will go wrong and Kubrick will find a funny way to do that...

I spent my month trying to find time to make my movie every day, so now that I'm on annual leave my brain is all about the movies. Anyway Transformers One was a children's political story about rising up against fascist dictators controlling the narrative. letterboxd.com/crashscreen/...
A ★★★★ review of Transformers One (2024)
A children's cartoon about seizing the means of transformation. I have a soft spot for Transformers. There's a lot of childhood nostalgia for this series. I was born in the 90s, after the original sho...

I think I needed to see this one. Been in this situation more than once and eventually started finding it hard to follow through with any of my projects.

I've seen one person share that their "safe place" for their parcel ended up in the middle of some field. Evri are wild with how terrible they are.

I would give 3 a bit of time before you watch it. Genuinely and without exaggeration the first half is just clips from the first movie. I can see it being a hard watch if you've just come off the first.

Finally gotten around to Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 and it truly was garbage day, but I'm here for it. letterboxd.com/crashscreen/...
A ★★ review of Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 (1987)
Eric Freeman's performance as the traumatised Ricky Caldwell is incredible and awful. In a weird way, so many lines of the movie just stick with you because of Freeman's delivery. He has the oddest wa...

That first season finale twist basically sums up hitting adulthood and realising what kinda society we live in.

Watched This Is Spinal Tap. A little underwhelming but I think the expectations were a little high (and misaligned, it was a more lowkey and dry film than I anticipated). Still quite good. Their remarks on the new album cover reminds me of the Epstein Files.

A ★★★½ review of This Is Spinal Tap (1984)
I think my expectations were raised a bit too high before watching it. This Is Spinal Tap has been on my watchlist for a long time. I've had friends quote it and the film's reputation is pretty well k...

I remember being allergic to old black and white movies back then, so that makes sense!

The Apartment is an incredible movie with commentary on the power dynamics at work and male loneliness. It's also from the 60s. A really fun and humourous old movie, with a dash of classic seasonal tragedy.

A ★★★★★ review of The Apartment (1960)
It's incredible the things they were doing with film before they invented Marvel movies. Jokes aside, I can see why this is considered a timeless classic. I hadn't actually heard about it until recent...

Watched Past Lives, and then spent the past hour or so digesting it. A really good, heartbreaking movie that explores identity through a allegorical relationships.

A ★★★★½ review of Past Lives (2023)
Midway through the movie, we're introduced to the concept of "inyeon"--a type of fate connected to reincarnation. Effectively a bond influenced by our previous lives, and where our current life influe...

Still doing the movie a day. Ended up on Trapped in Paradise. It was okay. letterboxd.com/crashscreen/...
A ★★ review of Trapped in Paradise (1994)
Sometimes you wonder if there was a script, for better or for worse.
