2025 was a big year for CC's efforts to expand the accessibility and interoperability of climate data globally. This Open Climate Data project, generously funded by the McGovern Foundation, focused on building the tools and guidance needed to ensure that knowledge flows freely and openly. 🧵

Pay-to-crawl systems have emerged as a possible way to help sustain the creation of content online in the wake of AI. However, overbroad use of pay-to-crawl could represent a shift towards a more tightly controlled and monetised content ecosystem.
