The next thing on my list. lol

This was an interesting project and is leading me down a huge rabbit hole. I'm excited to see where this takes me!

portion of her body was her wing in the sun. Adding yellow to the, even hotter, pink of the wings kind of threw me off. It was a balance of how overpowering (the bully) the sun would be on that temperature of pink. But, I think I did pretty well with it considering the deadline I gave myself 👍

One of the biggest challenges: Her hair. Hot pink is not a commonly used color. So, I tried to remember the rule outlined in the course and slid the color picker towards the cooler variations since the hair is in the shade. So, even though it's cooled down significantly, it still stands out.

Here, I did a few color keys to see how the colors would work in different settings. I made them sloppy towards the end because I started to overthink and get into unnecessary details. I need to practice more with creating shapes for better clarity, but laying it out was the main priority right now

First thing I noticed was her color scheme: It's analogous even though I thought it was monochromatic at first, as I broke it down further, I saw that the ‘gray’ on the top portion of her wings, is a cooler gray blue.

I always struggled with picking the correct colors for my art.

I usually wind up getting frustrated and using the model sheets and tossing a simple multiply layer over everything, not knowing how and why colors came into play and how it affects the atmosphere or mood of a piece.

I took ‘Figure Drawing Fundamentals’ by Proko, using a model I found on Pinterest.

Since I am trying to break out of old, bad habits that I picked up over the years, the next thing I tried to tackle was color. And since coloring was the main focus of this piece, I kept the pose simple.
