That being said im not jumping for joy that someone was murdered in front of there family, and it being politically motivated helps absolutely no one. What happened to kirk was a travesty, but i don’t think using his own logic to explain why alot of people are being callous about it is wrong.

Theres an argument to be made that mega corps are willing to give your data to the government, and with how much telemetry M$ puts in windows, its only a matter of time before marginalized people / enemies of the state cant trust there computers.
Not to say linux makes you immune to tracking.

My day to day use of linux is actually incredibly casual. literally Discord, Firefox, and Steam are all i use most days.

Even if you were stupid(you’re not) linux is not just for computer nerds. Give it a try, and if its not for you then at least you tried, you learn better from failure anyway.

Exfat, ntfs,and btrfs seems to be recommended from what i can tell, while the btrfs driver seems to have been around a while and it should be pretty mature, there are reports of some issues.

Im a fuckin nerd so I disagree in principle🤓🤓
But actually tho kubuntu is a great choice, kde is similar enough to windows that new users wont be completely lost. And it’s based on Ubuntu which is a well supported platform with a huge helpful community.

Anecdotally a lot of new user issues are driver related, Nvidia specifically. AMD meanwhile has made linux plug and play. Nvidia is moving in the right direction to be fair, but for new users i highly recommend making the switch with an AMD card.

Fedora is lowkey the best distro. And with bazzite and nobara theres great gaming focused options in the ecosystem.
