Neat. I'll look into it. I reckon the only solution is to dismantle the vested interests by overwhelming them with the state. This whole "community" approach in the original article is nonsense. Communities have are too weak to resist the vested interests waging war on them.

give me a break. My PC runs on my family's 10 year old laptop hdds. The very 1st laptop I ever bought was some crappy lenovo thing for a couple hundred bucks in 2010. it had a 300gb hdd and that thing is running in my PC to this day.

I am a hard drive hardliner. The on-demand gaming freaks hate us for our storage.

But games are bigger than ever! 512 gb is like 3 games. I bet you can plug in an external drive via USB. that would be an even bigger bottleneck than just having an HDD run straight from sata! A combo SSD & HDD would allow you to just transfer the game to the faster drive when you are ready to play.

why rely on an SSD? I want my gamer machine to have a big fuckoff hdd so that I can store more games! SSDs are great when you're using subpar ram/processor but want to give the illusion of a powerful system.

I thought DSA was basically dead, but this all really goes to show that movement-building is a slow-moving process. We can win BIG but it is gonna take a lot of time and effort.

she has her CV on her website. she's an Ivy League grad who seemingly writes about wealth inequality & dark money. But she also calls randos stalinists on bluesky. this is a typical level of self awareness among the power elite. i wonder if she realizes who was really behind the panama papers.
