ok one minor nitpick is no longer being allowed to choose which sports team to join, you get railroaded into track :/ i always felt kendo club was the most thematically appropriate given that the protag uses a sword. must be a consequence of the voice acting not wanting to rerecord dialogue. oh well

oh yeah the soundtrack's good too. i actually prefer that they replaced the old samples with newly recorded lyrics; the masterbits rapsody verses might have been funny for the bit but i really do not miss iwatodai dorm's "SO DANCE! WHILE I PUT YA IN A TRANCE!"

counterpoint: you can't be the girl 😔 yeah......i didn't get too far in kotone's route in portable but i do love the her. she's sillygoofy with it 😋 at least that version of the game hasn't been delisted so you can still play it if you REALLY need to get your girl on. plus we still got aigis episode

i guess it's worth mentioning i haven't played p5 yet so I'm coming at this game not from a perspective of "it's closer to modern persona" but "it's better than the psp version." don't know too much about the ps2 editions either but i imagine they haven't aged terribly well. play reload NOW

i do think akihiko's voice is far too deep for a high school student, i wish they hadn't played him like a 40 year old man. there's also one or two voices where i prefer the original but the new ones are all at least acceptable. also the social link npcs are voiced for the first time which i like

even the redubbed voice cast are all really great; i was worried the new actors wouldn't be able to live up to the sheer quality of original but I'm so on board with the casting choices. junpei especially does a fantastic job, much better than his old va who shall not be named 😌

p3p was peak when i played it a couple years ago but reload is absolutely the best version of persona 3 i think. same great game i know and love with cleaner visuals and the slickest ui design I've ever seen. yeah maybe I'm too distracted by the shiny packaging but goddammit it just feels so SMOOTH

i don't even know what specifically prompted this feeling but i have seen more than one video of parody songs where the lyrics were replaced with just naming simpsons characters. Bart to Go or whatever. don't get me wrong i do find this funny, i just don't understand why or how we got here

i guess people have been doing this with Family Guy Funny Moments for a while now. but in that show's case it always felt more satirical, because family guy was a lot more cynical and bigoted overall. with the simpsons it mostly just feels like we've run out of content to even make memes with at all

there are lots of memes that come from clips of (usually older) simpsons episodes and media but just...the Essence of Simpson is now all you need to make a bizarre shitpost. the franchise lives on in the form of stock renders of lisa accompanied by a surreal caption. the simpson IS the joke
