Being aware of those things from the start, in my view, facilitates discrimination and distracts from merit. Yet LinkedIn, in my view, in expecting photographs, names, and more, continues to facilitate discrimination.

Discrimination concerns
I believe employers should be unaware – at least in the initial stages of hiring – of a person’s race, gender, attractiveness, socioeconomic status, etc.

• Reporting inappropriate comments (such as clear bullying or sexism) in my experience has only resulted in LinkedIn sending me a vague notice days later saying the post “didn’t violate community guidelines” (a.k.a. LinkedIn was going to do nothing).

• LinkedIn seemed to be lying when it said “200 people have applied to this job”, as it really meant “200 people have clicked the Apply button”, which is not the same thing

• Under My Network, under People you may know based on your recent activity, I get the same suggestions even after clicking the large X in the top right corner of each suggestion
• I tried premium and saw really no benefit

Happiness

They say comparison is the thief of happiness. LinkedIn facilitates comparison. It is not helpful to me or my mental health to know how well people I used to know seem to be doing.
