2024 is done and now it's time for a new gaming thread for 2025! I'm staying the course with my backlog as well as new releases. I'm excited for experiences I'll have in the year ahead!
I am now at Lord with Gambit!! Gambit's definitely one of my top 10 Marvel characters so when he was added to the game I got on the grind right away. He's also a support which made me unbelievably happy as a Forever Flex main.

The music in Hell Is Us is so fantastically eerie that I had to look up who the composer. I am utterly shocked that I only see one other game under their belt (from what I can find).

I fully admit I'm a little worn down on Roguelikes and that may be why Absolum doesn't hit for me. I've played so many over the past 2 years and there are SO many in the Indie scene that I kinda need a long break from them after I finish Hades II (which is wonderful).
I like Absolum. It's a solid Roguelike-Beat 'Em Up blend, though... admittedly, something about the game doesn't really hit for me? Perhaps it's the inconsistent tone, or maybe I'm just worn out on Roguelikes, but I don't love it as much as it was scored by other critics. Still good tho.

I wrote about Marvel Cosmic Invasion for Minimap! It's a lovely little retro 2D beat 'em up. Though, I found the audio mixing on the VA to be rather shoddy, and the lack of polish holds it back a bit. But otherwise, good!

So happy to see Judy Alice Lee get my work. She's one of the female MC voices you can pick in Octopath 0. She's quickly becomes one of my favorite VAs between characters like Luna Snow, Vex, Melinoe, and etc.

The audio compression issue in Octopath 0 is such a bummer since it's clear many of these VAs are giving it their all here. Hope it gets fixed soon.
The issue is so bad I couldn't 100% tell if Tressa had the same VA or not at first (she does tho).

This quote gives a bit of the wrong impression and I don't want people to read this expecting a glowing review, because it is not. I had very conflicted thoughts on Yotei, but I overall came away with a positive sentiment. It allowed me to reflect on how I can appreciate what it attempts to do.

This quote gives a bit of the wrong impression and I don't want people to read this expecting a glowing review, because it is not. I had very conflicted thoughts on Yotei, but I overall came away with a positive sentiment. It allowed me to reflect on how I can appreciate what it attempts to do.
