I thought it was the right call from the start, Burnham had 2 choices in 2024, stand for Mayor or wait for the GE which had to happen within 7 months. He chose the Mayor and 420,749 people voted for him including voters in Gorton and Denton. They deserve respect which they aren't getting.

A minority then, Labour have over 400 MP's, even with my dismal maths I know this is not a problem for Labour or Starmer.

I rarely listen to Mr O'Brien anymore, he tends to get sucked in by a media he knows hates the Labour Government but can't seem to stop himself.

No, they're socialists and this Government is introducing socialist policies like free breakfast clubs, extra free childcare hours, Better Start centres, Employment and Renters Rights Acts, nationalising rail, millions into health, education and the environment, and much more.

I love Brighton, I'm going for a weekend in March, one of my best friends lives in Hove actually. It's always been one of my favourite places, we had a day trip every year, my Mum used to drive us down in her red mini, those were the days when you could just park along the front.

Oh and here he is, Corbyn's biggest fan, now a member of the Green party having another go at Starmer, this is one of the many reasons why I haven't renewed my subscription.

And if I was a constituent of Gorton and Denton many of whom will have voted for Burnham in the Mayoral election I'd be feeling very let down by Burnham. He's giving a big f*ck you to the people who voted for him 19 months ago, he's certainly isn't interested in them.

Then ask him why he chose to stand in the Mayoral election in 2024 rather than wait for the GE he knew had to be within 7 months. He's come across as an opportunistic back stabber to me and I've lost all respect for him.

Disagree completely. He could have chosen to campaign on behalf of whoever is selected, his ego is out of control, he isn't the bloody Messiah. Call me old fashioned by even in politics land the nearly half a million people who voted for him 19 months ago have a right to be respected.

Exactly, a Guardian (it's nearly always the Guardian) reports on an unamed source predicting a change, it's lambasted by the media, the change doesn't happen and was never planned but it's labelled a u-turn. The swift bricks hoo haa is a perfect example.

I imagine the 420,749 people who voted for him in 2024 are feeling surplus to his requirements at the moment and they will include people in Gorton and Denton. He's made it clear his only interest now is becoming an MP not the people he was elected to serve. Opportunism in plain sight.
