It’s not completely unusual to ski at elite level with a ruptured ACL. Clearly not optimal, but in no way an injury that precludes participation.

Honestly, I hate to be that sort of "good old days" sort, but I do sort of hate the way my kids are going to grow up without that weekend routine (although maybe less worried about the absence of Blobby...)

Foundational childhood memories, those. That whole 'sat round the TV on a Saturday evening' thing feels like a relic from another age.
