Radcliffe should remember we immigrants and children of immigrants are here because of British colonisation and make a huge contribution. He moved to Monaco to avoid £4bn tax. His club Man U owes everything to migrant players and migrant supporters. He’s an embarrassment to the club and game.

My god I cannot believe neither Starmer or McSweeney has not gone. I understand there is no brilliant candidate to replace PM but there were times when resigning was not an option. The Overton window on political resignations is mad.

Today is Candlemas

If Britain had a Department of Culture, it would be able to engage with this issue.
'the UK creative industries — which contributed £125 billion to the economy in 2024 and supported 2.4 million jobs — are being destroyed by an AI sector that... contributed just £11 billion in the same year and supported only 85,000 jobs." www.thetimes.com/culture/film...
All 2.4m of Britain’s creative workers are at risk — and we know why
A new report into the impact of AI on the creative sector makes for apocalyptic reading. The government must act now

We obsess about kids and social media: the issues with older people are glossed over.
This was a minor story on London news this morning - but suspect is a real cautionary (and alarming) tale of an older man getting radicalised online.

BBC News coverage completely unfit for purpose in the age of Trump.
The BBC coverage is absolutely terrible.

It leads on "sharply contested narratives"

It has a dramatic skew to the US government

It has posted the video but has failed to report on what it shows: it shows the US govt account is untrue

Have the BBC been this poor at reporting on Trump throughout his entire second term, or as the legal threat tactic just been incredibly successful?

There are MANY issues with Starmer’s messaging. But I always thought this govts best and easiest bet was to become THE government of the rules and fair play. Led by a former lawyer, lean into fairness, equality, law and order, justice for workers, respect for international law.

So Trump has said he is going to go in and "run" Venezuela and that US companies will have the country's oil reserves divvied up between them. After he kidnapped their president and his wife. That's where we're at, and we're going to maintain normal diplomatic relations with this man?

On a serious note, why should Gianni Infantino get away with this?

How can his position not be under the utmost scrutiny? What mechanism is there for him to be removed after his pathetic display of obsequiousness is shown to be the outright sham we all knew it to be?

Football deserves better.
I woke up to see the news. I am aghast.

I can't believe the FIFA peace prize has been disrespected like this. Is nothing sacred anymore?
