I wonder if somebody has managed to run #wasm in the bare metal, using something like the #mister #fpga. Considering WASM is supposed to be bytecode for a standardized virtual machine, like Java back in the day.

r/KitchenConfidential: I don't get what's hard about cutting chives? It's not that hard. Just pay attention and focus. Took me less than an hour to get this result. All I had to do was start my computer, open Blender, create a new project, model a perfectly cut piece of chive, multiply it a couple of times, adjust various parameters so it looks more organic, simulate a pile of them and voilà: perfectly cut chives.

The fact that most social platforms no longer count the URL towards the character limit has been a boon specifically for advertisers - as they can bundle long tracking identifiers at the end of every URL, which most users don't bother to strip (especially on mobile!) #privacy

I run a single-tenant #fediverse instance, so I follow accounts like @trending to get trending hashtags from more popular instances, and turn on the notifications. Problem is, I get notified for posts from both an hour ago and a _year_ ago because of backfilling.

i have understood for over a decade now that community led open source isn't a _development_ strategy or _maintenance_ strategy. it is a survival strategy in an adversarial environment dominated by capital. this is why, in long term, it is superior to any other type of software/hardware development
