Rare sighting alert! 🚨

Check out this ✨glossy ibis,✨ caught on camera by one of our Reserve Officers.

These birds are scarce visitors to the UK, with only ~200 individuals expected to arrive each year during the autumn migration season.

Have you had a rare wildlife encounter? 🤔

Nice to see more #fungi appearing for #MushroomMonday #FungiFriends. 🔁 from top left, lots of Persistent Waxcaps, Pestle Puffball, Redlead Roundhead, a white Poisonpie with fascinating weeping gills and lastly centre, a beautiful blush Brittlegill - possibly The Flirt? 🤔☺️
A collage of colourful mushrooms seen last week around the Merseyside/Cheshire area.

Hoo said that? 🦉

As Autumn kicks in, tawny owls begin to compete for territory as the younger birds mature. Listen out for their noisy night-time arguments as they display to one another – a more subtle sign of #NatureInFlux. 🗣️

Have you got tawny owls living in your area? 🤔

Honk honk! 🪿

You might hear this sign of #NatureInFlux before you see it – skeins of pink-footed geese arriving en masse for their winter holiday. Look out for their V-formation flight and pink legs 🦵🏻🦵🏻

Have you seen huge flocks overhead? 🤔

Ssshh! If you're really quiet (or just really lucky), you may catch a glimpse of a foraging wood mouse this month 🐁🌰

Look out for empty nut shells with neat circular holes chiselled into the sides – a clear sign of #NatureInFlux, as these mice try to build up food caches
