Stede exhales a small, bitter laugh. "Believe it. I never even clicked with my wife, if I'm honest. I've always wondered what that's like. Being with someone and the sparks flying immediately, you know?" All right. If Stede's gonna throw the door that wide open, can Ed be blamed for walking right through? "Maybe they have," he replies in his sexiest baritone, cocking an eyebrow and leaning closer, resting his hand on the back of Stede's chair. "Maybe you just didn't realize it." If Ed were speaking to anybody but Stede, whose self-esteem is so full of holes he may as well be Swiss cheese, he'd be certain he was laying it on far too thick. Ed knows he's being blatant as fuck. Ridiculously so.
