I wrote about 1K words on a sword-and-sorcery story a couple of weeks ago. Today, I had a few new thoughts and scrapped all those words in favor of 800 new words that set the hook, establish stakes, and pull the reader in (I hope). Sometimes writing is like that. #amwriting #writingcommunity.

Ellis rules that the plaintiffs have standing for their case. She cites the "ongoing and sustained record of conduct" by federal agents gathered over the last month.

She further finds the plaintiffs have plausibly shown feds have "frustrated" efforts to "protect journalist safety."

Grijalva: The frustration for me is that it seems as if Speaker Johnson is not willing to swear me in because our politics are a little different, or because I’m going to be the 218th signer—he can just continue to drag this along with no end in sight.

That is not a foundation of our democracy.
