idk what i'm more excited about, the fact that you're going for it and moving through the loop rather than running from it, or the fact that it's based on a Dropout property specifically

i love *all* of this for you!!!

TL;DR: I beg, do not frame being in person as being intrinsically better or more important/necessary than remote or online organizing and connection. Please stop devaluing the modes of engagement and tools which disabled people are frequently relegated to and rely upon. Learn to adapt and include.

Plus, this could bring in more people than housebound folks like me. It would also make getting involved more accessible for racialized folks and immigrants; people without cars, transit access, or time to commute; for parents with littles and caregivers of elderly and medically vulnerable people.

Many of us - myself included - have trouble turning off the part inside that always tries to Go and Accomplish. What if you can honor that part, while also cultivating a side that's been ignored: a more creative, risk-taking, childlike side?

At Curious Cat Music Studio, I offer piano, voice, and songwriting lessons that meet the desire to accomplish a new thing while also offering something deeper: something restorative and connective. We cover technique, sure, but technique isn't the point. The point is delight in one's own musicality.

And look, I'm a recovering overachiever too. I get it. So I pose to you this: what about a new year's resolution that is about the proverbial journey rather than the destination?

It's super normal to feel nervous about making music in front of others, including/especially in lessons! I love how online lessons mean that you can get nice and comfy, even lying down to get all the singing-parts lined up. Pudding is taking full advantage, so she sings with a relaxed, open mouth!

PROOF OF CONCEPT:

Meet Pudding, the mascot of Curious Cat Music Studio! She can be a bit of a scaredy cat sometimes, but when she feels comf, she loves to sing her little heart out.

Please send me a picture of your cat (bonus points if mouth open or on/near a musical instrument) with their name, as well as any specific musical struggle you have that I could work into my mini lesson for your cat.
