TL;DR: I beg, do not frame being in person as being intrinsically better or more important/necessary than remote or online organizing and connection. Please stop devaluing the modes of engagement and tools which disabled people are frequently relegated to and rely upon. Learn to adapt and include.

Plus, this could bring in more people than housebound folks like me. It would also make getting involved more accessible for racialized folks and immigrants; people without cars, transit access, or time to commute; for parents with littles and caregivers of elderly and medically vulnerable people.

I am once again asking able bodied organizers to be critical of messaging that constantly directs people to meet "in person, not just online."

A reminder: This guidance is not viable for many housebound people, and it's frankly really frustrating to see it in the midst of respiratory virus surges.

Look, I know 'tis the season for obscene quantities of cheese and losing all connection with time. But I also know that some people are overachievers thinking ahead to the new year, tapping their fingers and cooking up resolutions.

Speaking of cats - please send me pictures of yours! I would like to give them text-based music lessons to spread the word about my studio while also spreading wholesome vibes 😌

It's Day 19 of the ICE occupation of MSP.

Today thousands of Minnesotans poured onto Lake Street to rally in support of our immigrant neighbors and against ICE.

Take a moment to look at this crowd of you and your neighbors rallying in below zero windchill.

he is a fully formed oaf, consuming eggs by the dozen in one of the greatest villain songs ever written, and that is all we need of him

Idk if this translates outside of Minnesota, but why you see here is a fairly representative type of Twin Cities Guy™️ who is angrier than he has ever been in his life, and will spent the next 4 months driving around in sub-zero temperatures doing something about it.

not sure how to square ‘no one person can be reasonably expected to pay for every media subscription’ with ‘sorely underpaid writers need to make a living’ but my inclination is not to locate that problem with any of the broke ass people on either end of the complaint

Toolkit: how we dealt with Border Patrol
In November 2025, Border Patrol announced it would be coming to Charlotte, North Carolina. We only had a few days’ notice. Just like in Chicago and Los Angeles, they weren’t coming to “keep the peace....

I'm an "A.i." abolitionist.

No consumer-facing LLMs or generative "A.i." in anything.

Sure, machine learning in science and a few other limited applications is fine.

But consumer-facing LLMs and generative "A.i." that are based on theft, push disinfo, and can be manipulated by billionaires?

No.

And doctors are still paid as the result of daily LABOR.

They're WORKERS.

They're rich. But they're not The Rich.

This is not a high hurdle to get over, but I see people fall over it every day.

If you're equating doctors with Elon Musk, you are 100% not ready to be having these conversations.
doctor who makes 200K annual is VERY comfortable. That’s not wealth hoarding though lol

It’s Facebook and Amazon paying no taxes for the last decade, its being allowed to take out loans on unrealized gains in the hundreds of millions, capital gains tax lower than the tax rate of ppl who make 55k
