What a Wednesday! A crazy cold evening warmed up massively by a London Cycling Campaign award win (🙀) plus Khruangbin! My toes may still be frozen from the sub-zero cycle home, but my heart is very toasty & my brain still fizzing in shock. 🥰 #London #Music

Cycling really does give you wings! Watching a toddler soar up front whilst a retired tandem duo found their turbo mode was a definite ride highlight. Magical to see bikes bring out the joy in everyone, at every age, on this fun Kingston ride. @londoncycling.bsky.social @kingstoncycling.bsky.social

Great opportunity for children to pick up practical life skills this summer in Kingston, because you're never too young to learn how to take care of your own bike.

Will Norman tonight on how London Cycling Campaign's Share The Joy fund helps communities: "The people using London's cycle networks still don't represent the city. We have to ensure the benefits are felt by everyone in our city to enable everyone from every background to feel cycling is for them."

This was LOTS of fun! Looking forward to the next family-friendly ride already - more info on tiny.cc/FunRideSept25.

Also because - for style-over-substance reasons - there remains zero signage to say what the structure is for, meaning many Kingston residents still don't even know it exists, & rail users mistake it for a station entrance every single day... 🤦🏽‍♀️

When you take Kingston's council leader out for a ride meeting and a driver demonstrates exactly why so many people won't feel confident using a bike locally until cycle lanes aren't seen as a handy parking spot...

Fun to finally get to test out Hammersmith Bridge's new cycle and pedestrian lanes as I biked to Beck for a sonically beautiful show at the Albert Hall tonight. 🚲💚🕺

Has any cyclist travelling on SWR trains EVER worked out how these ridiculous not-quite-velcro pseudo-straps actually work? Barely stretch to the second bike & definitely never stick together long enough to hold either... 😤
SWR trains doesn't understand how to create straps that hold bikes safely

"The number one barrier to cycling is consistently feeling safe on the road. [...] Gender should never play a role in whether or not people feel able to choose to cycle."

Yup. 👆💯

📣 Women put off cycling by safety fears and intimidating drivers – study finds.

Great to see @theguardian.com spotlighting what women cyclists already know: the roads don’t feel safe.

Just 5 minutes in Dordrecht was more than enough to disprove the popular British myth that over 60 is too old to cycle. In fact, the 30-60 age group in the Netherlands ride the least, and Dutch women generally use a bike more than men. 💪🚲👵
You're never too old to ride a bike in the Netherlands

These photos, taken yesterday, seems a pretty accurate representation of the respect given to cycle lanes across Kingston at the moment, which seem more regularly blocked than I remember. [FYI @kingstoncycling.bsky.social]
Traffic signs and plastic barriers seem to regularly block Kingston's cycle lanes

Great that they've finally removed the car. But clearly too much to expect them to tidy up the barriers and actually leave the path safe to negotiate...! 🫣

Such a touching ceremony honouring the life of @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social this afternoon. Far too many parallels with my own brother's life. I like to think they've formed the most formidable yet friendly bike-touring pub quiz team wherever their travels have taken them. Top Guns together. ✨🚴‍♂️💔

Remembering @timcyclesthecoast.bsky.social

Many of you will have seen that Tim took his own life earlier this year. The outpouring of shock and sadness was overwhelming, and your comments were very touching – thank you.
