Welcome new Sky friends (and old). A little about me. I'm the first-gen son of a WV union chemical worker. Practiced litigation for about 17 years (consumer protection & employee side labor & emp.) Clerked for two state court of appeals judges. (State clerkships are awesome.)

I've been fascinated by honey bees since I was a kid. They are amazing creatures. We kept bees and I did bee beards as a teen at local fairs. Got this pic recently and really liked it.

Any day that the Cubs and Yankees lose a playoff game is a good day. Now let’s hope we can add a Dodgers loss to that list.

If Portland is at war, maybe we'll see a bill to prescribe the housing of troops? Better get that guest room ready. "No Soldier shall, in time of peace be quartered in any house, without the consent of the Owner, nor in time of war, but in a manner to be prescribed by law." #ThirdAmendment

Are we going to see a surge of Third Amendment scholarship this submission cycle because of deployment of troops to cities? Get your quartering troops text, history, and tradition on.

I had missed this post from Ed Whelan questioning whether Lindsey Halligan was even validly appointed in the first place. One minor point: Whelan says that the 1986 Alito memo "might not be in the public domain," but in fact it is, thanks to the Alina Habba litigation!
Was Lindsey Halligan Validly Appointed as United States Attorney? | National Review
As I understand the facts, it seems highly doubtful that Lindsey Halligan has been validly appointed as United States Attorney in the Eastern District of Virginia. If her appointment is invalid, so…
