I would argue this fails to properly hold Republican voters to account. Nixon-era Republicans said they would convict because voters would punish them otherwise. Now, they know the opposite to be true. If the voters were better things might be different.

Never ceases to amaze me, the ability of people like Raichik to be fanatically convinced they're the good guys--not despite but because of stuff like this.

I love the bit where Falstaff tells Harry to let his dad go.

If I suddenly got where I want to be at 64, I would find the idea that I need to step aside for someone younger downright obscene. Of course 65 isn't 85, but still I worry that valid concerns about out of touch politicians are mingling with some ageism.

I'm at least 15 years behind in my career where I expected to be in terms of position and money. I work in film (we met once when you guested on Cory in the House), a capricious industry where promotion is based not on ability but on being in the right place/time. (1/2)

I was a skinny, weak, clumsy, curious seven-year-old weirdo city boy who moved to rural Arkansas in 1980. If the bus was on time and I ran from the stop, I could catch an entire Doctor Who ep on AETN in the afternoons. Fair to say he was my best friend those first two years.

This has been my demarcation since, well, 92.

Thing is, lots of us find DST oppressive and really come alive this time of year. And I feel like a lot of people just plain don't believe we exist and certainly don't feel like we matter.

Taking proper care with colons can solve this, however.

I picked up a book at a used book store last year called "They Wrote on Clay" about Sumerian culture. I wouldn't call it a strong narrative (it's more archeology than history), but the prose was surprisingly compelling.

Hey, Nixon's support never fell below the mid-20s. The percent of Americans who have no relationship with objective reality is way higher than 3%.

To me, it shows him unfettered. He has not a shred of fear of consequences. Not one spec of caring what anyone thinks.

Yeah, but don't we already expect SCOTUS to strike down the ban on racial gerrymandering by next election? Seems like the result is the same.

The Supreme Court will most likely have struck down the ban on racial gerrymandering by the 26 election, so it makes little difference.
