Okay, and I have friends who work in VFX who are tasked with fixing bad AI experiments.

I also know of people vibe coding apps and refusing to hire people in my industry and people who accept defeat and hire real programmers.

This is why the plural of anecdote is not data.

Weirdly, creating a partisan ecosystem that relies entirely on attention-seeking rage bait and rabidly denying reality to push conspiracy theories can backfire. Who would’ve thunk it?

If you read the actual article, the point isn’t that jobs aren’t being lost, it’s that they’re mostly either being shifted offshore, and AI is being used to justify cutting budgets or headcount without having to admit that the company is short on cash or can’t borrow as much as it could before.

Smaller companies are now using Gen-AI to cough up crappy ads instead of even trying to hire freelancers and design shops. But a lot of people hate the end result and associate it with poor product quality, so they’re quietly hiring humans again to fix the mess…

Yes, the skill sets are changing so much that the same exact skills that were outdated and insufficient in the U.S. are in high demand in India and Eastern Europe, in offices ran by the same exact companies...

All the data says that's not true, but trust me bro?

Automation can definitely take jobs away, but that automation is specific to each company and process, not a generic tool that's supposed to be everything to everyone.

By Clegg's logic, the federal laws against meth should be repealed because they harm the profits of gangs and cartels.

No, ChatGPT isn't going to steal your job anytime soon. But a lot of AI startups and companies busy laying off millions desperately need you to believe that you're becoming obsolete because of some amazing AI breakthrough...

Chatbots that can supposedly plan a vacation of a lifetime are leaving people stranded, leading them to non-existent locations, and giving them impossible itineraries. And this seems to be a feature, not a bug of this bullshit-as-a-service industry...
how chatbots' lies can get you killed in the middle of nowhere
And it's not a bug but a feature.

Well, the main newspaper in the Soviet Union was called Правда, which means “truth” and North Korea insists on calling itself a democratic republic. So, the more you loudly proclaim to be fair and truthful and free without anyone asking, the more red flags I see…

People just send posts and updates to very common community and security apps that start with 🧊🧊🧊 and if any platform tried to ban any of these apps, Amazon and ADT would be livid.

Ah, yes, the immensely profitable and stable career of “being a famous person online for a few years” really needed proper credentialing so you can get your foot in the door of… umm… opening a social media account?

Since the mid-1990s, a certain subset of tech people in Silicon Valley have been looking for a god. So, they've decided to build one.

Okay, so pretty much all of America’s generals were summoned so they could be called fat and stupid, and told that they should really be invading cities in the country they’re sworn to protect and killing Americans the president doesn’t like?

A lot of people are just phoning it in at work because they have little to no incentive or reward to really apply themselves, just threats. Now, AI is making them even more efficient at mediocrity...

I had a rock bottom opinion of Kirk, but watching the highlights of his memorial service and the week after, I kinda feel bad for the guy. He was murdered and his “friends” acted like hyenas cannibalizing the body of their fallen pack member in a drought. He was a useful NPC to them, that is all.
