Agreed. Same here in the US and it's worse in rural areas. If I could walk to my mailbox and grab a bus to ride the 10 miles to town I'd be all over it, but we cant have such things. We can't even have reliable high speed internet without paying Elon. It's not profitable to serve us. 🤪

Passenger rail infrastructure is nonexistent here. Rehabbing old abandoned freight rails to connect into the nearest city is impossible due to development there and too expensive due to the low population density out here. Low population density & expense are also why busses don't run here.

That will work super great for those in rural areas that will never be served by public transit but still have to pay the increased taxes...
