I collect promises and past lives.
I watched a communist give a speech on how he thinks Trump doesn’t qualify as a fascist. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am in this movement. If a communist can’t identify poop because it hasn’t yet been physically smeared under their proletariat nostrils, what good are they? Comrade, please!

Not a good time to take or plan a cruise. Not until we have a functional government again.
CDC's cruise ship inspectors laid off amid bad year for outbreaks
The steep cuts to the cruise ship inspection team baffled officials in the program, which is not paid for by taxpayer dollars.

Republicans do not have a will to govern. This is no more apparent than in the state of MS where they hold a supermajority in the House and Senate, and they agree politically with a GOP governor. Despite all agreements on how to run our state, they can’t pass a budget for petty arguments.

I might not gain friends by saying this but I can’t give any credit to Sen. Booker for doing anything meaningful. We don’t need emotional speeches, not even really long ones. What we need from our government leaders is for them to actually take tangible actions against Fascism -a low bar, btw.

I hope this becomes a trend.

This is a new development. 40% fatality rate in humans
US reports first outbreak of deadly H7N9 bird flu since 2017

This is disastrous. Soybeans are Mississippi’s 2nd largest commodity, making up an average of 1.7 billion per year. 80% of the soybeans are traded to China. And about 25% of the global trade in soybeans are between MS and China. We have over 3000 soybean farms that are going to suffer from this.

Didn’t this billionaire recently leak personal identifying information of a federal judges daughter using his newly acquired access to her tax filings?
Bitch you are the government.

I feel like we are in a perfect storm when it comes to pandemic preparedness.

1) distrust of our healthcare agencies and official medical messengers.
2) 13 million undocumented immigrants unlikely to report infection.
3) The head of DoH more concerned about vaccines than the diseases.

www.whitehouse.gov/presidential...

Reading through this I find that the Whitehouse doesn’t make any distinction between potentially life-threatening diseases and neurological divergent conditions. It labels both as a “dire threat to the American people and our way of life.”

Public perception fix:

Instead of calling them illegal immigrates call them undocumented workers. Instead of calling them immigrants call them expatriates. That’s how we would like ourselves to be viewed if we were in another country, right? No double standards.

People who know me are aware that I’m not one to indulge in conspiracy theories. But lately, I can’t shake the feeling that we’re all like frogs sitting in a pot of water on a stove—and I’m the only one noticing the rising steam, a sign that the water is getting hotter.

I’m logging out of Meta apps today and for the next week. When I log back in, it won’t be for too long before I delete those accounts. Why? It’s the hypocrisy for me. The gov. banned our speech on a competitors platform in the name of “national security” but the same data is available for sell.
January 19, 2025 at 10:25 AM
There is no easy way to log out of messenger. Because it is designed to always run in the background to collect some of the same personal data that our government is concerned about us giving to foreign agents. It’s a good thing that Meta can’t decide to sell our data to the highest bidder, huh?

I believe, in theory, that everyone can teach us something. Sometimes our capacity to learn from them prevents it and sometimes their ability to package the knowledge is the problem.

I left Twitter a long time ago.

I think it’s about time for me to leave Facebook too. It’s following the same route. No fact checking. Hateful speech. Misinformation.

Life is too short.
