I am located in the mid-Hudson Valley and it is snowing like crazy here. We are supposed to get a foot of snow by the morning. It is 17 F so the snow is light and fluffy so far. The roads are terrible.

Christmas is hard for many. The years roll, the ghosts at the table increase. We’re haunted by the absence of voices, of laughter engines who drank and ate with us. This can be day of remembrance rituals. For what it’s worth, Hooklanders near and far are in my candles today. Be gentle on yourselves.

We went to a holiday market inside this cool old building in Hudson, NY. There were a lot of vendors and it had a fun vibe. If you are in the area you should visit the Cannonball Factory market.

Saw this Buddha statue on the doorstep of a shop in Hudson, NY. Hudson is a cool place to spend a day. Lots of shops and cafés with lots of antique buildings.
