QRP with Sketch vs Final

A vampiric bloodmage painted a while ago for an upcoming project 👀👀👀

Still super proud of this one, it had a really tight turnaround and I'm thrilled with how it turned out!

If you need any character spot art like this for your #rpg project, my #commissions for Q1 are fully open!

First post of the new year!

I used to do this thing on the #dnd subreddit called How Would You Use It: I'd just post whatever art piece I'd made that week for myself and ask people how they'd use it in their games, how it inspired them.

Figured I'd do it here too! SO! Ahem!

How would you use it?

One of my favorite stories about concept art, which feels topical rn, isn't glamorous. It's from a random meeting.

The sculpting team was updating an old lion knight sculpt and struggling with vibes. They wanted more aggressive and battle-worn.

I solved their problem in 20 seconds mid-meeting. 1/

One of my first professional projects that really helped me feel like a concept artist, and one I really wanna revisit someday.

A tiefling society living in a frozen blizzardy waste has to function somehow, right? There was so much in these, but here are a few of my favorites.

This is older, non-steamforged, but it's still one of my favorite designs I did in the last little bit. Just personal art, but it was in the beginning of me getting into sci-fi on various levels and it was such a fun exploration.

Artists, show us your red art 🔥

Another design from Bardsung, an Elven sage. Thinking a ton about "old growth forests" here.

This was the first design when I thought "You know... the sculptors miiiiiiiiight get mad at me for this one". But they said it was quite fun and they knocked it out of the park! Huge shoutout to them! <3

One of my favorite designs I made for Bardsung 2, the Thornspitter. We'd been talking about this faction being very body-modification, but all organic, no tech, and we needed a ranged enemy for them. So? No archers here, we've got Arms That Spit Thorns At High Speeds. Why would we do anything else?

Hey all

Lost my job today.

I know it's hell out here for everyone, but if anyone needs an experienced mid (or hell, even junior) level concept artist or illustrator, please consider me.

Full portfolios are at www.dakotacurry.com if you're interested in perusing

Thanks for everything <3 <3 <3

Been a while since it was this short!

I'm also adding a new thing too! Pet paintings! These are great holiday gifts, at least from personal experience. These are 40$ for a full painting of your beloved fur babies (at print resolution if you feel like printing them too!)

I can do cats and other critters too, just don't have examples 😅

I'm adding more options -- 20$ will still get you a greyscale portrait, and now 35$ will get you a color one! These are great for RPGs and digital tabletops! I'm also offering items at the same 35$ tag.

Sketches and doodle comms are also still available at the 15$ price point per usual

I haven't done a sketch sale in forever and they're always so fun, sO!

Sketch sale! I'm gonna run it through Ko-fi: ko-fi.com/dakotacurry

Value sketches this time! 20$ for a portrait, 35$ for a half-body! These are so fun and y'all always have wonderful ideas, so I'm excited!!

I'd love to! I don't have as many tabaxi as I'd like, not enough clients wanting them, sadly! But, to offset that, the one on the spear is still in the top 3 google image results for "dnd tabaxi monk"!

The full collection is at www.dakotacurry.com/illustration if you'd like to see the rest of it!

Commission done for @jackyaloe.bsky.social, his OC Jacky (also he/him)! A ton of fun, I love working in this new style!

Reminder that this style of commissions is still on sale, so if you've been looking for new art, now is the time!

Found this the other day, still one of my favorite pieces I've ever done of all time

It was just a random homework assignment from school but it feels very formative for establishing what I like about art and I think about it a lot
