Howdy #PortfolioDay!

I'm Dakota, I'm a Seattle-based concept artist and illustrator working mainly in the tabletop and #rpg space. I'm always on the lookout for the next step and I'm so excited to see what people's cool new ideas are!

A design sheet for a woman in hide and bone armor with a greataxe that appears to be fueled by blood magic An ornate golden statue of a drider in an otherwise dark and gloomy cathedral A gothic cathedral rises up out of ancient ruins, sickly green smoke spilling from its doors A werewolf breaks out of fiery chains; above, three hooded knights with silver weapons gather in the light of a full moon.

Last week we asked if you wanted to see new art - and here it is!

This piece, illustrated by @dakotacurry.com, will be featured on the Paragons Starter Kit box set, which will be crowdfunding in early 2026.

What do you think the threat depicted here is? Will the heroes be able to save the day?
An airborne view over the shoulder of a flying hero with black feathered wings looking over a city skyline disrupted by a giant glowing green apparatus that appears to be rising out of the city. Other heroes can be seen in the distance, all approaching the threat. Text over the image reads "Paragons: The Roleplaying Game Starter Kit"

Ever wonder what happens when a fey creature turns into a vampire?

Well wonder no more, because this week we're combining legends of the fey and the undead to bring you the vampire muse!

Happy start of Spooky Month! 🎃💀

Found this the other day, still one of my favorite pieces I've ever done of all time

It was just a random homework assignment from school but it feels very formative for establishing what I like about art and I think about it a lot

GWENNNNNN thank you OH MY GOSH!

Seeing creatures (hell, people included) live is always SUCH A boost to understanding. Bonus points if you can see them moving/living/not just like a model in a museum or something

They're 100% all weird little guys!!!

I feel like I'm cheating a little bit cuz I grew up around and on them, but also even with that they're WILD CREATURES shape-wise

Do I think it's the end-all be-all of art skill? nah absolutely not, there's a wide variety of skills it doesn't cover

but also I love horses soooooooo

When I was a younger artist, like before-my-career younger, a mentor said to me, "If you can paint a horse, you can paint anything. It's one of the hardest things to draw and I always check for it."

I'm painting a horse for $$ now for (I think?) the first time and I'm SO EXCITED TO PROVE MYSELF

Hey all! I've really been enjoying this new style and I want to keep working in it, so I'm opening a flash sale!!!

100$ for a full body in this comics-adjacent style, or 50$ for a bust! That's a third of the price of my usual painted style!

Howdy!!

I'm Dakota. I normally do concept art and illustrations for tabletop, but I've recently FINALLY gotten around to refining a workflow for some more comicy stuff and I've been having so much FUN!!!

Cheers!
