🚨 New piece for @ecpr.bsky.social's @ecprtheloop.bsky.social@maxheermann.bsky.social & I map trips of world leaders using @josefkorbelschool.bsky.social's COLT of over 78K+ foreign trips by heads of state and gov from 1990-2023.
Reference: bsky.app/profile/jose...
Network visualization of foreign diplomatic visits using the COLT dataset.
- Countries are shown as circular nodes sized by the number of inbound visits.
- Node color indicates world region: blue for Asia, yellow for Europe, red for Africa, green for Latin America and the Caribbean, pink for Oceania, and purple for Northern America.
- Directed arrows represent path of state visits from a leader’s country to their first destination, with line thickness indicating visit frequency in each decade.
Edge colors denote decades: dark blue (1990s), orange (2000s), and light green (2010s–2023).

(1/5) My article Disintegration and Party Competition is out in the latest issue of @jeppjournal.bsky.social ! I ask how parties in other member states reacted to #Brexit. Do #Eurosceptic challengers frame it as an example to follow? Or do they instead row back on ‘hard’ demands to #leave the EU?

Sure you don't want to work with us? We're clearly not an Ivy League institution, but we can offer a great work environment in a beautiful region. Lake and the Alps are included for free. In case it matters, egg prices are stable at around 30 cents apiece. stellen.uni-konstanz.de/jobposting/8...

And now we get to watch as potentially epoch changing events occur. There's a very 19th Century feel about the sight of the US and Russia discussing European borders. Though rather than Vienna or Berlin, modern day statecraft apparently happens in Saudi. 5/5
