Gargh! It wasn’t me all this time! Wasted too many hours trying to figure it out. #microsoft needs to do better. www.tomshardware.com/software/…

Was at Maker Faire Bay Area this past weekend - feeling inspired to teach myself new skills, for whenever inspiration strikes like a giant red robot beautifully backlit in a massive former shipyard. #makerfaire

Turns out that if you ever pull out the rubber grommet around your car’s cable bundle, the way to reinsert it is to ease out the clips on the hard plastic bit and put the grommet on that before clipping it back in #TIL #carmaintenance

What is this crazy thing I’ve found? CARROT, the weather app, has a soundtrack?

If only because my family name in Mandarin is a homonym for the color orange. #iphone17pro

It’s been a long while since I’ve seen one of these. Had to hunt for a cable to do the firmware updating.

Instax Wide should probably be rated ISO 4000 in bright light: https://pixelpeeper.micro.blog/2025/07/07/instax-wide-should-probably-be.html

Instax Wide should probably be rated ISO 4000 in bright light. Wasted a box of film and 2 hours to figure it out.

#LPT : If your PC sits under your desk, on the floor, put it on furniture sliders to move it easily. https://tinkerblog.micro.blog/2025/05/31/lpt-if-your-pc-sits.html

Not the best cabling job in the world, but it’s probably as good as it gets. I feel like the PC case industry is ripe for standardization and cable buses #cablemanagement

Got all the parts in… and it looks good on one side… not so on the other.

Why #doomscroll on social media when you can watch your 3D printer instead? It’s so much more exciting watching it put a part together layer by layer! #3Dprinting

I now cross-post out from #micro.blog. Because it is amazing. If you’re using an aggregator and are subscribed everywhere I am in the #fediverse, I’m sorry you’ve 4 copies of every post. Including this one.

Haven’t gotten a Ghost instance up yet, but I’ve started running my own PixelFed @[email protected] and jumped on a friend’s instance @[email protected] on Mastodon.

It’s a mild technical challenge, but I don’t like being at the mercy of the platforms.
Start your own website. Run your own blog. Use decentralized and open-sourced platforms

@ghost.org is a great open-sourced blogging platform and website builder
Pixelfed is doing great work for images and runs on the social web

Support open social projects so your homes on the web don't fall apart

@gregorygeiger.bsky.social hello! I’m sorta here too. But mostly on Mastodon and the Instagram replacement, PixelFed
