Let's be honest... Final Fantasy 13 wasn't considered a weak entry because of a strong, female protagonist. I would argue that the game's story and characters felt like they belonged. Sadly, FF13's core gameplay loop lacked substance (as many other critics would echo for years).

I find it a bit alarming that Steam has not only been removing obvious review bombs from Dragon Age: The Veilgaurd, but some negatives that I remember reading hours ago that didn't even comment on 'wokeness' at all. They critiqued on how they think the game holds up on its own. 🤔

Perhaps one mutuals quest of mine could be to find more OG Baldur's Gate fans. Haha. I understand the acclaim for BG3, but the retro nostalgic in me can only hope to find some old-school fans around the block, too. 🙃

One of my dream games to make is very Daggerfall-inspired adventure. While I first enjoyed the later Elder Scrolls titles for their own qualities, Daggerfall became my latebloom favorite in the franchise! As many RPGs would emulate LOTR, I feel that Daggerfall went for more of a Macbeth direction. 🙂
