A lot of folks who are obsessed with traditional gender roles seem to have convinced themselves that their relationship struggles have nothing to do with them. Instead, it must be because there’s just not enough “real” men or “real” women out there.

I used to see Black creators online talk about how they weren’t interested in trying to educate white folks about racism and politics. I didn’t get it at the time but I think I do now. Many whites are willfully ignorant and will never help dismantle a system that privileges them.
