A brief video called "Leia and the birds", made 10 years ago in Tajikistan.

Uploading it now because Tajikistan underwent a dreadful civil war from 1992–1997. War can end, and life can get better.

Fedex was founded in 1973. Their founder Fred Smith just died. From his obit in the FT. 👇

Kudos to the 1975 auditor, I guess? Man.

Should Cardinal Luis Tagle be elected pope, he will undoubtedly be the first to have had a fellow seminarian who later in life cared for an enormous python in an animal rescue shelter located in the heart of a university campus. 🐍

The Financial Times' Chief economics commentator Martin Wolf argues that from a Chinese elite perspective, Trump is undertaking a cultural revolution — a revolution Chinese elites intensely dislike in both China and the U.S.

When @chrispolpsych.bsky.social introduced our class on the social psychology of prejudice to the wondrous theory on social identity developed by Holocaust survivor Henri Tajfel, I never imagined years later I would read something so repulsive by someone who believes herself to be Pro-Jewish🤮

I never thought I'd see my local city council promote plant-based diets, in this case because of climate concerns. Pretty cool, right @mbolotnikova.bsky.social ?

Ironically after a few days of heavy rain this whole area invariably floods. That would make a symbolic photo.

I ask because I was recently almost hit by a car (in red) whose driver did not see me; their view inhibited by the blue car (waiting to turn right). I estimate the car was travelling 60kph. I waited in the middle of the crossing having sensed the danger; it blew by without slowing. Driver shocked.

Curious that Jim Clyburn merits so little mention on Bluesky when no one was more consequential to Biden's victory in 2020, Biden's choice of Harris as VP, and perhaps also his work behind the scenes to have Biden run again.

Hey @cmfederico.bsky.social if I recall correctly you said Social Identity Theory is the biggest contribution Social Psychology has made. Wild to see a journalist who claims to specialize in using psychological insights to analyze the news degenerate Palestinian identity like this.

This academic certainly does not like one bit my friend Gershon Baskin! Many more examples from all kinds of people found here: x.com/search?lang=...

In February 2023 Gershon wrote "For quite some time I have ceased calling myself a Zionist."

Wealthy parents: if you want your kiddies' brains to turn to mush, by all means, drive them to school.

Note: so few kids biked to school it's difficult to draw conclusions about them from the dataset. 😢

Will definitely put aside the time to read it properly at a later date, but meanwhile, this leapt out rather nicely.
