It makes me happy that in the uncertain economy of dive bars, Spot seems to have solid footing. They own the building, it is very small, it is in a residential neighborhood & draws a consistent neighborhood clientele, while also having a solid base of day drinking alcoholics to keep the lights on.

I have something similar that I got after my mom's death. They are letters from my dad (still alive) trying to reconcile their divorce. I don't have her letters (I imagine dad does?), but I can almost infer her responses from what my dad writes & knowing my mom.
