Agreed! What’s up with this supposed culinary transgression? I’m Italian, & gleefully snap my bundle of spaghetti in half before dropping it into the (heavily salted & olive-oiled) boiling water. Does it supposedly bruise the pasta or something? I honestly don’t get it.
