SCUBA | MTB | Ski | Avs
If their 5v4 play were good I wouldn’t let their 3v3 play bother me. I worry that their issues 5v4 are the same as their issues 3v3. Come playoffs if PP isn’t vastly better it will absolutely cost them a series. There’s a reason it’s been 15 years since a team won a cup with a ridiculously bad PP

5v4 and 3v3 are two of the most coached situations in hockey and the Avs are abysmal at both. They aren’t aren’t simply bad at 3v3 or 5v4. There is an incompetence about their play in these situations that is shocking to watch

Sry. With the worst/second worse PP in the league? He doesn’t deserve it especially with how consistently bad it’s been all yr; it doesn’t look any different now than it did games 1-25 or look any different vs Dallas in round 1

Notice something abt your language. You are sure to equate Israel and its gov actions w/Jews as a group but not the other countries you list; also you’re good w/a homeland for Jews as long as no one else is there. Gosh, thanks for offering something that cannot exist
February 5, 2026 at 6:36 PM
you claim to blame Israeli gov, but I don't believe you; you also blame Jews who refuse to 100% denounce the concept of a Jewish homeland and self determination; it saddens me that so many on the left are simply incapable of extending to Jews the same equity discourse used w/every other group
February 5, 2026 at 4:56 PM
You demand we adopt your def of Zionism rath than what it's meant to many Jews-right to self determination; right to a homeland; Zionism must mean what you say it means & the mere existence of a Jewish homeland was a flawed idea; can't imagine any other grp being asked to do what you ask of Jews

They are reacting to an understanding of Zionism that includes policies, ideologies, and actions that they oppose, and do not want to be associated with."
February 5, 2026 at 3:39 PM
This helps explain why some Jews who feel deeply connected to Israel nevertheless resist or reject the Zionist label. They are not rejecting Israel’s existence or the idea of a Jewish state.

...shaped by a mix of political agendas, public discourse, and broader social forces. It has come to be understood as encompassing ideas that go far beyond its once-standard meaning.

You state the Finns are finally getting rid of the last official swastikas 90 yrs after the rise of the 3rd Reich. Do Jews get a century to adjust, too? Or is that lenience just for others?

From the article:
"The word Zionism has undergone what might be called “definition creep' over time...
February 5, 2026 at 3:39 PM
I did read the article and do not see what you see. To claim there is no nuance to how Jews may feel or use the term Zionism is to deny the challenge of the lived Jewish experience
February 5, 2026 at 3:39 PM
You need to look deeper than that. Many Jews have grown up with a very different definition of Zionism than is currently used today by many in the anti-Zionist left. "Not sure" also means, "Which definition of Zionism are you using?"

Most Nate thing ever in response to getting 700 assists, “I’ve played 13 yrs in this league. It’s not that impressive.”

How crazy is that. There one thing he cares about and that is it.
February 5, 2026 at 5:13 AM
That call is an excellent example of how NHL hockey is officiated. “I see a broken stick, must have been a slash.” Rather than, “I saw a slash break a stick, that’s a penalty”
February 5, 2026 at 4:47 AM
Yes. But we don’t have to directly fund it through the federal budget
February 5, 2026 at 4:44 AM
So if the GOP won’t vote to subpoena who the Dems say, no funding. The Dems have to exercise every ounce of the limited power they have rn
February 5, 2026 at 4:25 AM
100% agree. I just wish I knew if the staff had the guts to tell PP1 what to do
February 5, 2026 at 4:02 AM
My doubts abt this revolve around around wondering if PP1 is willing to listen to their coaches. We really have no idea as to whether they are practicing something different than what they do in games or not
February 5, 2026 at 3:49 AM
How abt very short funding cycles that, as a condition of the funding, require Congressional hearings with DHS leadership as witnesses. Give Dems subpoena power for 4 officials every hearing. Each month the Dems can decide if they are willing to fund again for another month based on that testimony
February 5, 2026 at 3:44 AM
Fair. We also have ample evidence from 2025
February 5, 2026 at 3:33 AM
The only real answer is to put an end to ICE but I also know that will never happen. It’s a mistake to think think there will be any accountability for this admin and all the laws in the world won’t change that.
February 5, 2026 at 3:31 AM
My expectations of that the Dems will do anything if the sort are incredibly low
February 5, 2026 at 3:23 AM
True. Problem is, DHS does what they want regardless of any laws or court orders. There could be 1,000 additional rules and they simply won’t follow them
February 5, 2026 at 3:20 AM
Just hoping the accountability they experience under the Canadian staff maybe lights a fire under them to be better. Hard to imagine they’re given as long of a leash as they are in CO
February 5, 2026 at 3:01 AM
I’d agree that it was a mental issue if they started off good and then got into a slump they could let get out of. It’s been atrocious all yr tho. Structurally the PP is a mess and there’s about 4-5 ppl to blame for that
