Alas, because of our screwed-up electoral system, unless you're in one of the 100 constituencies which gpew/YP/pc/GPS could be competitive in, there's not going to be much that voting alone can change.
dangerouscorner.bsky.social
When you have 900k people on your mailing list, you have a lot of room for screw ups. Piss off 90% of them and you still have more members than GPEW had yesterday. Though not today.
dangerouscorner.bsky.social
You'll note that GPEW current front bench team appears to have learned the crucial 'don't triangulate, just come out fighting lesson. But yeah, the media wing of the regime is going to hammer us. Do you fancy joining, help us weather the storm? Join.greenparty.org

No it's not. We are years out from the next GE. Lots more chances for YP to get their shit together and start working on a targeting deal.

As a member of MK you can keep on lobbying to retain what looks like a tacit agreement not to challenge each other: in the county council elections this year there looked like GPEW and MK had met over a pint and divided up the seats. Long may this continue.

Ooh yeah I can see how overconfidence (but also fear of occupying discursive space of victim) means younger people would be much more vulnerable to 'cooling the mark' attacks.
dangerouscorner.bsky.social
True as a general statement, but I am interested in whether or not there's shifts in fear levels between 'no attempts ongoing', 'attempt made, avoided' and 'victim of attempt'.

The press lads didn’t turn on the Tories as one in late 2021 because they had recently become embarrassing. They turned on them overnight because they had been this embarrassing *for years*, and the lads now felt safe letting them collapse, because the Labour right were finally secure as a fallback.

Anyone looked at effects of scam attacks on fear of crime, overall feelings of security etc? How do these correlate with age?

And GPEW also pays attention to veterans' welfare concerns, hence session about this at the recent conference.

Today is a day when arts degrees are worthless, but the product of those degrees is so valuable it would kill an entire industry if they were made to pay for it.

2.5 million veterans have a variety of different takes on D&S policy. There was at least one veteran on the working group which wrote the policy.
GPEW wants to get away from 'ideological purity' and the policy does just that -- an end to Blairite wars of transformation, putting UK defence first. 1/2

Wow, massive typos above. Sorry.

The C20th took the piss out of Victorian formal mourning traditions but I can see the case for them. "The person with the black armband is in a different place right now and needs some extra consideration."

GOEW already hasone of those: be in a defensive alliance against military aggression based on international solidarity, also stop doing neocolonialism.

Got to say I am pleasantly surprised by this.

The answer is simple, though unpleasant. Although you think (and I agree with you) that the purpose of life should be universal, and apply to all humans, they do not. They want one class to be cogs, while another class gets to express themselves.

They work for the latter group to impose this.

And where the fuck has he ever gone in Leicester where he sees 'a single ethnicity'? Unless -- and I may be on to something here -- he sees 'not white' as a single ethnicity?

So sorry to hear about this, matey.
