OK, this great advice except that when I tried to get a COVID-19 vaccination this past fall my doctor said that my insurance likely wouldn't cover it and the cost to me would be about $250.

On Christmas morning 2014 I bent over to pick up some wrapping paper and banged my head against the corner of a wall. Had to go to urgent care to get a half-dozen stitches in the center of my forehead. (Not sure if it makes it better or worse, but I was perfectly sober when this happened.)

It's not as red as you might think:

While west Michigan in general is quite conservative, the City of Grand Rapids itself voted almost overwhelmingly for Harris as opposed to Trump in 2024 (69.4% Harris to 28.8% Trump).

Even in Kent County overall, the vote was for Harris 51.5% to 46.7% for Trump.

I understand your sentiment and I agree that many things are getting a lot worse (and rather quickly). Still, it brings me at least a little comfort to know that some important things have gotten better for many billions of people around the world.

@peterahrens.bsky.social, did you give them permission to use this photo?

I once had a similar brilliant idea to make a sauce by deglazing a Pyrex pan on the stove. (I was luckier than you, because with the exception of ruining the meal (since the glass shards flew everywhere), nothing else was harmed.)

I once tried to use one of those to carry my groceries out to my car at an Aldi in Switzerland and it set a whole alarm system off.

It's a key addition to a proper Glühtwein.

This is a messed up way for me to find out that Peter Pan is dead.

When this song first came out, one of my friends said that he didn't realize U2 had been a band for so long. 😆

If I see something too distressing, I'll quickly jump to the moss feed. HAHA

Nope, I followed you on purpose. (What's not to like about a helpful corpse?)

I am now the proud(?) follower of the moss account. 😂😅😂

Thanks for the clarification. 👍

I now feel dumb. (Perhaps going to look at some photos of moss will make me feel better.) 🙂🙂
