I feel like we're trying to react quickly to a strategy that was 50 cruel years in the making. We need to appreciate that it can take a long time to respond. I mean, definitely 100% racism and sexism were relevant with Harris. But the right played the same game with Biden and would have found a reason to stir up doubt from anyone on the left. Republican voters eat up their Fox propaganda heartily because they like hearing excuses for their misery.

I watch a YouTuber called Coach D who puts out a regular drip of FAFO content. The general mood from Trumpers is "Things suck right now but would have been worse if Harris won." They're losing their health care and ability to buy food and crying on camera and still think they made the right call.

I very firmly believe that candidates and elected officials need to be willing to talk about anything sincerely and do it without a script.
