So close now! I can't wait for readers to have this beautiful edition by @pressassembly.bsky.social in their hands.
📣 Coming January 2026 📣 Vessel: The Shape of Absent Bodies by @dani-netherclift.bsky.social is a lyric bricolage of memoir, image, literature, history, and translation that wrestles with the shape death takes.

Add this one to your new-year book stack! 📚

Sussan Ley is clearly so far out of her depth that she deserves to be sacked by her party, purely for her own good.

This is perhaps the most contemptible thing any political leader has ever said in this country.

The sooner she f*cks off to obscurity the better for Australia.

It's a month tomorrow until Mansfield Readers and Writers Festival kicks off. I am mostly behind the scenes as president, co-producer and co-curator, but I have one part amongst it all at the front of the house, and can't wait to be in conversation with these luminaries!

My copy of Heat 20 arrived today, with my piece ‘Preludes #2’ within. I wrote this about anticipating my mother’s death, which occurred a month to the day before this edition was published.

Reading proofs of upcoming essays to be published, Adobe Acrobat shows me a message: 'This appears to be a long document. Save time by reading a summary.' The reading is the point, if you value being a reader and the work of writing. End of story.

I've written a new (free) Substack. Hope you have a nice Sunday. We are off on the long journey to the Wimmera for the funeral of a loved family member tomorrow.

I've written my first Substack for paid subscribers. It's about some of my processes for writing and mosaicking a long-form lyric essay, and a bit about the manuscript I am currently working on.

I wrote a new substack about getting myself to sit at a desk and actually write. You can read it here daninetherclift.substack.com/p/sitting-do...
