Watched Interstellar again

Made me want to play Kerbal Space Program

(No, I still haven't bought Battlefield 6)

Just went to see Palestine 36

It tells the story of the 1936-39 Arab revolt from the perspective of relatable characters and on a small scale that makes it easy to grasp, all with sublime acting

Whether you know a little or a lot about the history, I strongly recommend that you watch this film

I ended up watching this video earlier to give me some ideas for Skyrim, since my current playthrough has ended up getting boring (using "meta" loadouts, taking on too many quests at once, etc.)

I think I'm finally going to bite the bullet and make an evil character...

This playthrough of Stellaris has been a blast

I've conquered a fallen empire, defeated the Contingency, conquered half the galaxy with my federation buddies and – just tonight – completed the archaeological project at Ultima Vigilis (I won't spoil it, but it's...eerie)

Cracking game

Some serious classics were played last night

Y&T's most famous albums are now over 40 years old, yet Dave Meniketti sounds better than ever

Great concert!

(It'd've been better without the cheap-looking genAI visuals, but I feel like I'm flogging a dead horse there)

I saw a post about Elder Kings 2

Interested, I looked into it, and it's an Elder Scrolls-themed mod for Crusader Kings III

Interested again, I watched an hour-long tutorial on CK3, which described it as one of the most complex strategy games ever made

So anyway, I've just re-downloaded Stellaris

Battlefield 6 is just around the corner, but I'm still on a Skyrim bender

My khajiit mage needs me!

In my first Skyrim playthrough on PC, I tried finishing the Civil War questline before touching the main questline, but the game doesn't let you

There is some unique dialogue and an appearance from Delphine, which is cool, but I'm already bored of it

Goodbye, Paaraasol

You were a good altmer

One thing that will always annoy me when playing GeoGrid (www.geogridgame.com) is that the USA is technically not considered as having a Caribbean coast

If you read the Wikipedia article on the Florida Keys, it says they're in between the Gulf of Mexico and the Atlantic but not the Caribbean

With the power of that mod that unlocks all 25 tiles, my biggest ever Cities: Skylines city has gone from 160k pops to 210k pops and rising

Yes, I spent all of my Saturday on this

I recently completed the latest No Man's Sky Expedition

I must say, going from a corvette back to my BC1 Radiant Pillar on my main saved game was quite a shock

I've found there's no point grinding for spaceship inventory slots – just get into automated mining, make billions and buy a better ship

This weekend, I have:

• Eaten a nice curry
• Attended a friend's stag do
• Finished my latest Cities: Skylines city (>150k pops)

I should probably do something productive, but Skyrim is looking awfully tempting

It only took me a month, but I've finished Blood and Wine, and with it, my playthrough of The Witcher 3

I feel I got the bad ending, but nevertheless, this whole game has been fantastic – I can clearly see why it's considered one of the best of all time

Now, how long till I play it again...

If you're going to retcon the origin of the aliens, then at least make it good

This may be a hot take, but I think this new series is heavily overrated

Uninteresting premise, cookie-cutter characters and a total lack of suspense

Just finished my last challenge on the #Battlefield6 beta – that's 20 levels from 19 hours of play

BF6 is shaping up to be a great game and a proper Battlefield title, and although it has its problems (the overly fast time to die being my main gripe), I'm eagerly awaiting the full launch in October

A little getaway to Galloway to try and catch the Perseid meteor shower

The moon was very bright, but we still managed to spot a couple of meteors flying overhead (not pictured; have you ever tried photographing a meteor with an iPhone?)

I've put 6 hours into the #Battlefield6 beta so far, and I like what I'm seeing

This game offers up that classic Battlefield feeling but with more immersion than ever before, and the overall gameplay experience (gunplay, movement, class interactions, etc.) is generally strong

Till next weekend...

I've got the Battlefield 6 beta to play later, but my friend is playing Elite Dangerous tonight, and I'm partway through playthroughs on Cities: Skylines (a custom map based on Conakry, Guinea) and The Witcher 3

Am I...a gamer???

I tuned into the reveal earlier this evening, and so far, I'm impressed; the reveal focused on all the right aspects, and the game itself looks very good indeed

I won't say "we're so back" till it's in my hands, but #Battlefield6 is shaping up to be a long-awaited (and sorely needed) success story

There's something I don't like about being forced by my own government (🇬🇧) to give my personal data to a third-party AI company in order to access online services

Honestly, I'd feel better if the government was processing the data itself, but even then, this feels like a slippery slope

Something I was talking about at work earlier: search engines have become near-useless

For example, I was on Google looking for a song based on its lyrics, and I got medical advice on how to treat a cold

Or, I was on Youtube looking for a song with X's in the title, and I get pornographic content

I've reached Toussaint in The Witcher 3, and...wow

Not only have the quests thus far been engaging and often humorous, but the design and aesthetic of the environment is simply breathtaking

It makes me want to go to Italy, on which it is clearly based

It looks like the #Battlefield hype train is preparing to leave the station

As a Battlefield veteran (BFBC2 onwards), I've sunk countless hours into this series, and I'm hoping for a strong next entry

I also plan for it to be the first Battlefield I play on PC, so we'll see how that goes!
