I had to leave the book of faces, it’s been my hub for almost two decades, but now every time I open it, it makes me sick. I might be an old gen-x fart, but I’m not like “other” old gen-x farts, I have a conscience. And a shred of shame for my generation.

I think the neurodivergent (specifically autistic) community has received enough misjudgment without the need to tack on yesterday’s display as an excuse.

Just remember that our lives are not the big moments, the earth-shattering collision of stars, or political events. But rather the quiet moments of scratching out an existence. The moments between heartbeats, the time between exhale and inhale.

I have theories about why Shorts and Reels can never be cool and hip culture factories like TikTok, but I would like to hear other people’s theories as well.

My heart is broken for the countless lessons learned, friendships made, laughs shared, tough conversations had, opportunities to grow and share with others the joys, triumphs,and anger we’ve collectively experienced and individually resonated with over the years.
