**Interesting SPI Routing with iCE40 FPGAs**

I wrote about iCE40 FPGAs, and why the way an FPGA is configured can lead to interesting board design decisions. @mith.ro's Fomu is a useful study due to eschewing a USB-Serial chip for accessing the FPGA and SPI flash.

I think @golioth.io may be the first custom Brick in @officialarduino.bsky.social App Lab 👀

We make use of both the BLE and Wi-Fi connectivity on the UNO Q to proxy data for BLE peripherals, stream data from attached sensors, and perform network-based positioning with Golioth Location!

Working on a fun project with @szczys.bsky.social this weekend combining Edge Impulse gesture recognition models with Golioth Bluetooth connectivity, running on an nRF52840 connected to the Tikk board (by @chrisgammell.bsky.social) for LEDs and IMU!

I enjoy that despite the fact that LLMs are notorious for their overuse of the em dash, Gemini fails to produce the character when asked about it specifically.

@golioth.io ❤️ @officialarduino.bsky.social

My UNO Q board arrived yesterday and it took only a few minutes to get up and running with an application that communicated with Golioth over Wi-Fi. I can’t think of a better development kit to demonstrate the flexibility of the Golioth platform!

**Using a Laptop as an HDMI Monitor for an SBC**

Wrote up some quick notes on how I use HDMI to USB capture cards to breathe new life into old laptops as HDMI monitors for my single board computers (SBCs).

I recently learned about Princess Cruises Medallions because I was traveling through a port city and a quick scan of BLE devices revealed that the airport was teeming with them. Interesting little beacon device that appears to be used for everything from unlocking your room to paying for food.

Currently reading the Feynman Lectures on Physics while on a short vacation this weekend — we should all strive to communicate technical concepts so effectively.

Today we are launching support for device signed URLs on @golioth.io! Almost everyone uses signed URLs on a daily basis to access private content on CDNs, but they can also be useful in the context of complex multi-protocol embedded devices.

Awesome Bluetooth board that can be controlled from anywhere via @golioth.io!

Hardware and firmware courtesy of @chrisgammell.bsky.social and @szczys.bsky.social — perfect little digital signage for the office.

Interesting to see Apple continue bringing networking chips in-house, debuting the N1 across the iPhone 17 lineup, and introducing the C1X cellular modem in the iPhone Air.

Full control over a critical power hungry radio undoubtedly plays a role in offering long battery life in such a slim profile.
