Hello, friend, and welcome to the Palintíri help and support system, provided by the Eldar, Eru's first born, to you, men, Eru's second born, free of charge and with a minimum of condescension.
Aragorn from the Lord of the Rings gazing (lovingly?) into a Palantir showing the eye of Sauron.

"Oops I did pre-order it and then forgot I did."

Can't wait to be completely crept out.

TFW you paid $1400 to see Beckett’s most famous work without knowing anything about it
One Star Review of Waiting for Godot on Broadway
I recently attended Waiting for Godot on Broadway and spent over $1,400 for two Row C seats (103 and 104). I'm a longtime admirer of Broadway productions and even hold a season pass for Shea's Performing Arts Theatre, so I came in with genuine enthusiasm and high expectations. Unfortunately, this show was unlike anything ! have ever experienced —and not in a good way.
What I encountered was not the artistry, music, or emotional storytelling I usually associate with Broadway, but instead what felt like an endless cycle of nonsensical conversation between characters who seemed trapped in their own madness. I tried-truly tried-to find meaning, symbolism, or even a thread of emotional resonance. I stayed through the first half hoping the second would offer clarity. But by intermission, it was clear: this was a waste of both time and money.
Keanu Reeves is an actor I respect greatly, but I cannot fathom why he would agree to participate in such a disjointed, inaccessible production. His talent was lost in a performance that defied reason rather than provoked insight.
To anyone considering attending: unless you are drawn to highly abstract, nearly incomprehensible theater, I strongly caution you against this show. For the average, educated, thoughtful theatergoer, it is far more frustrating than fulfilling. In my opinion, this was the single most disappointing Broadway experience I've ever had - an unfortunate waste of money and, more importantly, of time.

"Waiting for waiting for Godot to start making sense"
danielzklein.bsky.social
Honestly, this is unironically the best way to experience Waiting for Godot. This man (and I'm sure it's a man) internalized the experience at the core of the play in a way no one who knew what they were in for ever could.

Supreme Court: of course states can regulate, and restrict access to, medical procedures if there’s a compelling public interest

Colorado: (bans conversion therapy for minors)

Supreme Court: no not like that, we only meant abortion

It is bizarre to me how few listeners/viewers this podcast has. This is super valuable information for the game dev process.

Oh! I thought you'd mentioned something about some parasite pretending to be an ant and having ants serve them up their larvae?

Can you put your finger on what's changed that's making it click for you? Haven't had the time to check it out myself yet

@aptshadow.bsky.social I'm almost through Bear Head and the Game & Metagame thought has fucked me over. The concept isn't new to me, but I've never seen it so succinctly put. I assume this is a well studied concept in Biology? It feels... terrifyingly timely.

I mentioned this to a friend who's attending, just to you know call him out, and he's like "oh yeah there's like a 90% chance that's my crew"

My mind went to grey ranks immediately but it's not really focused on anti semitism, more the personal fates of the child soldiers fighting in the Warsaw ghetto uprising. This sounds really interesting! I'll make sure to check out Rosenstraße

Oh! Would you almost do pathing on the bullet?
danielzklein.bsky.social
Ah yes always the edge cases! Unreal's Lyra game has a function built in where if the pixel perfect point trace of the bullet doesn't hit any damageable targets, it does a fatter trace along the same trajectory. Effectively "larger hurtbox" for hitscan.
danielzklein.bsky.social
Actually this would work really well, because "Vader" is obviously the Dutch for "Father", while "Darth Veder" would translate to "Dark Feather", excuse me while I go and write some absolute not unhinged fan fiction.

Bullet magnetism is functionally identical to a larger invisible hit volume, isn't it?
danielzklein.bsky.social
Those are indeed two of the most common implementations of aim assist. The "pull target to enemy" implementation tends to be the most noticeable. There's also "nudge toward target on automatic fire" and "keep reticle on target while strafing". Typically all are reserved for controller in PvP
