In #MathsToday I mainly hand waved and jumped about with glee to a flat bemused room of students who /never/ appreciate how amazing maths is

In #MathsToday we spent some time exploring De Moivre's Theorem just looking at the basic skills, before the students tested two pages from the currenly WIP book... TLMaths: The A-Level Further Maths Core Pure Textbook Part 2.

In #MathsToday I was asked "isn't modulus- argument form basically polar coordinates?" Before i moved into the next activity where we were plotting various complex numbers on an argand diagram with a polar grid...

In #MathsToday I taught another class circles formulae and did not use the teddy bear task! Amazing how much two different classes can be completely different teaching!

This was with a bunch of students the standard I have never seen before in 17 years of teaching A levels. The questions were deep and true to form they continued to ask right to the end.

In #MathsToday (actually Friday) I gave my year 12 students a question from 1961 which I found in book my colleague found in a charity shop.
They were loving it. Plus I was loving the discussion on how one would solve it using numerical methods without a calculator.
