This move, cast here as a response to some sort of uprising, actually includes about 200 Oregon National Guard members, according to a memo that Pete Hegseth sent state officials.

Guard likely will be limited to protecting federal personnel, property. Legality of even that will be contested.

Chiarelli responds he is "honored to be put in the same sentence" as the other two.

Mixed reaction from vets and active-duty that I've talked with today about the addresses from Trump and Hegseth at Quantico.

Some see an overdue tone shift.
