It's October, so that means it's Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Please be aware of cybersecurity. Thank you.

Catching up on #AEW Dynamite. Bloody Hell, PAC is somehow even MORE jacked?

Like a cross between Bane and a comicbook accurate Wolverine. 🤼‍♂️

Note to self: Book flu jab (when called for it...) towards the end of the day.
dannypalmer.bsky.social
It's good how one chronic respiratory condition makes me eligible for a flu jab, but the same chronic respiratory condition doesn't make eligible for a jab for the potentially more severe thing, isn't it?

I had covid last month, so hopefully it's out the way for the near future at least. 🫠

Looking forward to the annual 'will they offer one after the flu jab theh invited me in for' lottery. 😬

Yes, I bought this hair product purely because it sort of has my name on.
A tin of hair product called 'Dapper Dan' - featuring a dapper gentleman giving a thumbs up. I assume he's called Dan.

It's on a strong orange pattered 70s vibe placemat on the kitchen table. (My wife is in charge of the aesthetic) Mr. Burns choosing 'Count Chocula' breakfast cereal on the basis of "Well, I suppose this one looks a bit like me."

He was looking for Burns-Os after seeing Krusty the Clown buying Kusty-Os.

From Season 8, Episode 21 - The Old Man and the Lisa. (1997)

Some calendar marker has been passed because I'm getting a whole bunch of similar ads too. Although, mine are for Wallace & Gromit or Sonic The Hedgehog jumpers...

Very noble of you. Thank you, Nikki.

Ah, I see Chelsea, NYC isn't that different from Chelsea, London in terms of posh, rich people.

If I recall correctly, Red Ventures went onto sell the sites at a massive loss. But with another recent round of lay-offs, it doesn't sound like things have improved.

And all for what, eh? 🫠

One of the indicators of how the new owners of where I used to work had changed the site into an affiliate link farm was when I was pulled into writing these. Not in my usual form of 'watch out for scams' but 'LOOK AT THESE DEALS'. I didn't care for it. They laid off the whole UK team months later.

Aye, I second it as a good read. :)

As pointed out, teenage hacking isn't new, but it feels like in the last few years it seems to have stepped up from it being for the lulz, to being a whole business enterprise in of itself.

Certainly different from when I were a lad. Didn't get a PC in the family home 'til 1999 when I was 13 or so.

I feel attacked.

Also, for me, the little songs about the cat are often to the tunes of wrestler entrance themes... 🤼‍♂️

Marmaduke, six, is reported to have been the subject of near constant vocal stimming by Ellie Mulligan, 32. In response, Marmaduke concealed a microphone within his floofy orange trousers, and he is now rich beyond his wildest dreams.

Kind of wonder who is teaching the kids computer classes these days too. This is anecdotal of course, but I have friends who are teachers who've had to learn IT to teach IT. I'm not sure if there's coding, let alone security specialist teachers in schools.

Wow, Bluesky is finally broken into the mainstream (being used for scams)

I'm attending a NATO conference today and someone has done the funniest thing possible with the name of their wi-fi network

Even after all my years of covering cybersecurity, it still kind of blows my mind how young the kids behind these major attacks have become.

Plus the way it appears to be evolving into a homegrown issue - attacks by British people, rather than the 'traditional' faraway Russian perpetrators...

If they are, then it's about time they chipped in with paying the bills! 🐱

Lol. Nice.

For me and some mates, Doggetts is always where we go when someone has big news to announce. (New job, newly engaged etc) - Nobody remembers why.
