I volunteer as a handyman at a local LGBTQ community center, the PDX Q center, and my most recent task was fixing their incredible piano. They got it from Darcelle who was a famous Portland drag queen

This really nails it. 2025 is when the state broke my heart.
Remembering today that having your heart broken is a necessary step on the path to becoming fully human. Whichever heartbreak is your first, it’s probably critical that a state break your heart so that you can develop a political imagination. If this is your first, I’m sorry and also welcome.

I started to volunteer a lot. Im the maintenance dept at the PDX Q center. I repair tools at the tool library. I help fix peoples things at a repair clinic. I’ve done habitat for humanity. I took a day off work to pick weeds in a park. I’m signing up to shop for elderly neighbors
