I love catching up on my “to read” list of papers on planes.  And today found time to read some recent work on randomized phase estimation arxiv.org/abs/2503.05647 from Gunther et al
Phase estimation with partially randomized time evolution
Quantum phase estimation combined with Hamiltonian simulation is the most promising algorithmic framework to computing ground state energies on quantum computers. Its main computational overhead deriv...

Had a great time this week in Cambridge!
Hello everyone! I thought I could use my first post here to report on a great meeting that our QuantERA project "TouQan: Towards a useful quantum advantage" has had this week at DAMTP in Cambridge, UK. A full week of stimulating discussions, lots of fun, and quite some progress on the project!

If you are going to QIP this year, make sure to attend all the tutorials! The line-up of speakers looks fantastic! And I know that Cambyse is cooking something great for his tutorial, this will be a unique opportunity to learn about the exciting field of quantum Gibbs sampling!
QIP 2025 is fast approaching! And we have exciting tutorials lined up on Feb 22-23 (Sat-Sun) right before the conference! First in line, we have Cambyse Rouzé from #inria, whose tutorial will cover Quantum Gibbs Sampling (9am-12:30pm, Room 302ABC).
